Technology is changing our world faster than the speed of light! With computers, cell phones, and the Internet now a significant part of everyday life, it is important to address this technology with your students.

National Science and Technology Week (recently changed to the "Find Out Why" campaign) is traditionally observed in late April to early May. Why not focus on just technology this year? There certainly is enough to talk about!

  • Invite your school's technology director, web master, or computer teacher to give a presentation. He/she can talk about the school's web site (if applicable), computer lab, and other advances the school is making in the area of technology.
  • Using your school's computer lab, teach your students the basics of navigating the Internet. Give your students a simple fact to find on the web and let them try finding it. If you are not on-line, teach them how to work in Windows.
  • Take a field trip to a local hospital or factory and have a worker tell the class how that area has been improved by technology.
  • Have the students write a sentence or paragraph describing how their lives have been affected by technology.
  • Hold a typing contest! Give the winner a technology Pin
  • Check out our ImprintedMouse Pads - they make great gifts for your students during your technology week!
