School Awards Assembly Ideas
The following article - thanks to:
Everything Elementary
One of the most exciting days for any student is the end-of-the-year school assembly! Not only is this day a terrific way to recognize your students’ achievements, it’s also an ideal way to close out the year on a positive note. Below are some elements you can work into your program. These will help you plan an assembly that is worthy of its own award!
- Sing your school song as a group.
- Recruit some students to perform a skit or musical piece.
- Put together a slide show of memorable moments throughout the year. (Kids love seeing their picture on the big screen!)
- Recognize the academic, athletic, and other achievements of students with Medals, Certificates, and Pins.
- Recognize any staff, teachers or parents who have significantly contributed in some way to the school year.
- Honor any retiring staff or teachers with a special word of thanks and small gift. Candles and picture frames make great end-of-the year gifts.
- Give small tokens of appreciation to every student, so no one feels left out. Funtoos or Ribbons make fun and economical gifts!
- Hand out school yearbooks.
- Host a casual reception following the assembly for the students and their parents.
